You can even port an existing phone number across, so friends and family don’t need to change a thing. They just dial the number they’ve always used.
This is particularly useful where a loved one has a wide circle of older friends who aren’t comfortable with apps or video calling. It means everyone can stay in touch, in the way that feels natural to them.
Is It Right for Everyone?
It’s worth thinking this through before setting it up. Opening CallGenie to calls from any number means calls can come in from people who haven’t been pre-approved, which may not be suitable for everyone. For someone in the later stages of dementia, for example, unexpected calls could cause confusion. The person managing the setup will know best whether the benefits outweigh that consideration.
